VOGUE Features Town of New Paltz in New Travel 'Guide'
If you've been house hunting, weekending or day tripping in the Hudson Valley this fall or winter, you've probably ended up in one or more of "the usual suspects: Hudson, Rhinebeck, Kingston, Woodstock. All perfectly desirable destinations, touted in every upstate New York guide under the sun."
But, you may have missed New Paltz, home to the majestic 149-year-old Mohonk Mountain House, the vibrant academic and arts community of SUNY New Paltz, and a thriving, walkable downtown with exceptional shopping and dining. Why? According to the author of this December 28 VOGUE story, it's "more undiscovered—or at least not overrun by most of Brooklyn."
Not yet, at least.
While the VOGUE piece focuses on the highlights of this 'Winter Weekend Destination You’ve Likely Overlooked,' New Paltz offers much more than can be accomplished over any given two- or three-day period, no matter the weather. There's antiquing, skiing, ice skating, distillery/winery/brewery hopping, hiking and so much more — a mere 90 minutes from New York City.
And, thanks to VOGUE, we can't expect our home town to be "overlooked" for much longer.
I'll be sharing my very own Nest Realty Co. Guide to New Paltz very soon, so stay tuned to this blog.
In the meantime, if you're looking for your dream home here, there's never been a better time than now.
